This was when I learned of Sunbaby Diapers. They are one size pocket diapers and rather inexpensive. I was able to get 12 of them for $60 shipped to me. During the time that I was learning about these diapers though, I came across a really great sale on Rump-A-Rooz. They were also very cute, but very very expensive. So, on a regular day, I would have never looked into buying them. Their parent company "Kanga Care" was running a special based on how many fans they gained during a certain time frame and they would base the discount on the amount of fans. I don't quite remember the deal, but I wound up getting 4 of their typically (close to) $30 diapers for $65-ish dollars. Granted, the quality of the diaper was much higher than say, Kawaii or Sunbaby, however, I wouldn't say that they worked any better than the lower quality diapers.
Getting these diapers around the same time frame, I can only say that they both were used on both of my boys- and were the last diapers my older son was using before he decided to use the potty, and he was about 32lbs at the time. I tended to reach more for my print diapers than my oh so boring solid Kawaii diapers. I then found sell/swap/trade groups on facebook and it was a downward spiral from there! I started selling off my boring solid diaper stash and putting money into other print diapers, whether it be work-at-home-mom diapers, or other manufactured diapers.
I never had any problems with either of these diapers leaking or fitting poorly. Sunbaby diapers were narrow though the crotch area and a seemingly trim fit. The rise on my first Sunbaby diapers was pretty low, but this has since been changed/altered and I am unsure if the ones that I had originally bought would be considered "size 1" or not, but I currently have a few "size 2" and some "size 1" are on their way. They are still considered One Size diapers, they are just offering 2 sizes because some people have smaller/thinner babies and some have larger/chubbier babies, and the company opted to do this to accommodate more babies in the process. It is a bit confusing, but the size 2's on the rise fully open, i need to put the snaps on the smallest waist setting to fit my boy at 25lbs.
This is one of my favorite prints of all time made by Sunbaby! (pardon him getting into cleaning supplies! LOL I was obviously there with him and this was the only way to get him to stay still for a picture)
As far as Rump-a-Rooz go, they are cute, they fit okay, no problems with leaking, but I can not validate spending that much money on a diaper. The double gussets, while some see them as being useful, I don't find them to be much more than an extra crease to get poop out of.
And Rump-a-Rooz in action
